Development of a Wireless Charging System for Electric Tuk-Tuks, Now in Operation at a Commercial Facility

最新情報

At B&PLUS, we have developed a wireless charging system for electric tuk-tuks, which is currently in practical operation at a commercial facility.

This system enables contactless charging simply by parking the vehicle in a designated position, without the need to connect a charging cable. Because the vehicle can receive supplementary charging while parked or on standby, the system helps reduce the routine work previously required to plug and unplug charging cables during daily operation.

Electric tuk-tuks are often used in applications involving repeated short stops, such as sightseeing transportation, on-site mobility within facilities, and last-mile transportation. However, connecting and disconnecting charging cables each time the vehicle is operated can increase workload and make operations more complicated.

To address these challenges, B&PLUS proposes a wireless charging system that makes effective use of parking and standby time to charge vehicles without adding extra work. Since delivery around May 2025, the system has continued to operate at a commercial facility for approximately one year, and is being used as charging infrastructure that helps make electric mobility easier to operate.

The system supports contactless power transfer with a transmission distance of 100 mm and a maximum output of 581 W (58.1 V / 10 A). By eliminating the need for cable connection, it simplifies charging work and also helps reduce the risk of contact wear and poor electrical contact.

B&PLUS will continue to apply the wireless power transfer technology it has developed in the industrial equipment field to expand its use in compact electric mobility applications, including tuk-tuks. By helping create charging environments that are easy to use in a wide range of settings, such as sightseeing areas, on-site facility transportation, and local mobility services, we will contribute to labor saving and improved convenience.
